O Letrir Avdenion · The Avdenio Alphabet
While this site for English speakers primarily uses the Roman alphabet, a native writing system has been designed for Avdenio. The letters of this writing system are derived from the major alphabets, abjads, syllabaries and logographic systems of the world. Words can be written vertically, horizontally, from left to right, or vise versa. The first column of roman letters shows the character names, while the second column gives the standard romanization of each Avdenio letter. Characters in parenthesis are other allowed alternatives of special characters /ė/ and digraphs /tj, dj, sj/. Characters in brackets show the preferred IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) values of each letter, with the leftmost being standard. The lower two columns show which writing system and character is the source of each Avdenio letter. In addition to using both the Roman and Avdenio alphabets, the language can be rendered in adapted forms of many world writing systems; Arabic, Cyrillic, Hangul and others. Such adapted transliterations will be posted as they are developed.
At this time there is no downloadable font for the Avdenio alphabet. If you would like to contribute to the project by designing a usable font, contact Lucas Wright.
